Schaefer-Weaton Elected Chairperson of ABI Board

Lori Schaefer-Weaton, president of Agri-Industrial Plastics in Fairfield, will serve as chairperson of the Iowa Association of Business and Industry (ABI) Board of Directors for the 2017 fiscal year, which began July 1.
The ABI Board of Directors unanimously elected Schaefer-Weaton during its 113th annual meeting on June 14 in Sioux City. Schaefer-Weaton served as vice chairperson in 2016 and has been an active member of ABI for 10 years.
Schaefer-Weaton is a second-generation leader of Agri-Industrial Plastics, a family owned custom industrial blow molding manufacturer. She is active on several boards and initiatives in both the Fairfield region and throughout Iowa and has a particular passion for education and STEM. Schaefer-Weaton is a founding leader of ABI’s Elevate Advanced Manufacturing initiative.

As ABI chairperson, Schaefer-Weaton is responsible for leading the Board of Directors in developing the organization’s strategic goals and objectives and in overseeing the implementation of that work. She will also help to communicate ABI’s mission to Iowans.
The Iowa Association of Business and Industry (ABI) has been the voice of Iowa business since 1903. Its mission is to provide a strong, unified voice to business and industry on issues affecting Iowa employers. ABI is comprised of 1,500 member companies of all types and sizes in all 99 counties employing more than 330,000 Iowans.
